How to

Care for your cut flowers

  • Add water every day. Freshly cut flowers drink a lot of water. And as they start to fade, bacteria builds up in the water causing them to decay faster.

  • If you received a flower food packet with your flowers, these are the types of flowers that benefit from flowers food in their water. This will extend your flower's vase life by a few days. Use half the packet early in the week and the other half when you refresh the water.

  • Place flowers out of direct light and in a cool place.

  • Don't place cut flowers near a bowl of fruit. The ethylene in the fruit causes the flowers to "ripen" quicker which means their vase life will be shorter.
