From the green grass and clear water views in spring to the lush wildflower fields of summer and the muted colors and sunsets of autumn light, each season has a different look and feel, but there are always places on the farm to capture beautiful shots (April through November).

We are a working farm, not a botanical garden. In addition to flowers and beautiful vistas, you’ll see the nuts and bolts of a farming operation. In Spring and Fall we harvest flowers in a tight bud stage before bloom so there is less fields of color than during the summer months of June through early October.

We’d love to help style your photo session with custom bouquets, installations, or wearables! Also ask about our props available: a wooden wagon, wiskey barrels (4), tables/chairs, and wooden apple crates (4).

The cost is $60/hour. 1 hour, half day and full day options are available.

At booking, you must email a copy of your certificate of Insurance. Must list Anchored Roots Farm and be for the current year. You are responsible for your clients at all times. You must remain on the property until all of your clients have left. This is required in order to book.

PHOTOGRAPHY DETAILS

A site fee is charged for photos shoots and other commercial photography on the property.
$50/hr. Includes:
Full use of our flower farm and waterfront/pier
Scheduling is based on availability. Please submit your request at least 7 days in advance, (the beginning of each year if you are looking for April-May or October weekend dates).
Weekday availability is more flexible.
Inclement weather may arise so a second date will be required. It is up to the farm to cancel based on weather and safety.
We kindly ask that you tag us in any photos on social media.

FAQ's & ETIQUETTE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Be respectful of your appointment time. Do not pick the flowers. Do not step on any flowers or fields.

WHAT IF IT RAINS AT MY SESSION TIME?

Please reach out to us in advance. We do offer rescheduled appointments for inclement weather; however, it must be actively raining for the booking. We don’t allow reschedules if the fields may be a bit damp from rain earlier in the day. You will find that most generally, our flower fields are not muddy, nor hard to get around in.

WHAT IF I MISS MY APPOINTMENT?

We do not offer refunds for missed appointments.

WHAT IF I’M NOT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?

Currently, we only offer the farm for professional photographers with business liability insurance.

WHAT IF MY CLIENTS CANCEL AT THE LAST MINUTE?

We do not offer reschedules online within 48 hrs. We do not offer refunds for cancellation or missed appointments.

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY TO SCOPE OUT SHOT LOCATIONS?

No, we’re typically working on the farm right up until the photographer’s rental time. We may even have another photographer out with their client before your session and this could be a disruption, so we’re not able to accommodate early access to the farm for this reason.

WHAT IS THERE TO TAKE PICTURES OF?

Our farm is bursting with gorgeous photo opportunities. We grow flowers in a rainbow of colors, as well as wildflower fields, and scenic water views. We highly encourage photographers to research prospective locations on our farm to shoot via our own social media pages. This gives a good idea of a general idea of what we have in bloom during different times in the season. However, this is a working flower farm: flowers may vary.

WHAT COLORS OF FLOWERS WILL YOU HAVE IN BLOOM?

At any given time during our growing season, there’s a rainbow of different colored flowers available as a backdrop for photos; however, our flower farm really gets going with loads of blooms from July through the beginning of October. We receive this question many times from your clients directly. Please make sure to advise your clients to wear solid, neutral colors for the best photos possible. Please keep in mind, we cannot guarantee any particular flower will be blooming.

WHEN WILL SUNFLOWERS BE IN BLOOM?

July 4th through the end of September. Please note: We cannot guarantee when the sunflowers will be blooming.

DO I NEED BUSINESS LIABILITY INSURANCE TO RENT YOUR FARM FOR PHOTOGRAPHY?

Yes. We require the photographers who rent our farm to carry a business liability insurance umbrella policy and to email us a copy before booking.

CAN I BRING MY PETS OR A CLIENT’S PETS?

No, we have several dogs and cats around the farm and visiting animals can be a disruption.
