The Lily, what a beautiful, understated flower. Some people do not like their overpowering smell. The lily varieties we grow have a very light fragrance, or no fragrance at all.
Lilies are a beautiful flower, that come in many colors, shapes and sizes. They have a long vase life, tall and study stems, which make for great flowers in fresh cut arrangements.
We grow them a few times throughout the season as they are one of the only flowers that can perform under low light AND full sun. The deer do love them, but other than that, they are easy to grow and maintain in the garden.
One thing we really want you to know about lilies is that they are poisonous to cats if ingested. And I don't know about you but my cat loves to munch on fresh flowers the minute I bring them into the house.
Because of this, when you receive fresh flowers from us that include lilies (sometimes in June and again in November/December), be sure to keep them high up and out of reach if you have cats, such as on your mantel.
Look for these beauties coming up in June and again in late fall around Thanksgiving.
